Introduction DGUS (DWIN Graphic User System) is a new GUI software platform developed by DWIN Technology. Based on the K600+ Kernel hardware platform, GUI design, combined with a simple command interface, can be achieved quickly, eliminating the need for complicated programming and expensive development environments. Framework of DGUS System Comparing with DGUS solution, traditional LCMs adopted commands-oriented or timing sequence to manage GUI while real-time variables used in DGUS. The operation and display features are defined in preinstalled programmable configuration files with variable oriented. Software flow chart of different development methods for temperature controller is shown as below. Plug-in tools were also integrated into it including Icon Generator, ASCII Font Maker, Image Conversion Tools, as well as UART downloading tool. Typically DWIN OS was used for recognizing Dwin DGUS LCMs as active control unit without MCU management. Some of basic control application can be applied directly on DWIN OS platform. ETH_100 Package: Optional for customer who have needs on remote control via Ethernet. ETH_100 software, TCP setting software, User Manual V1.1, and Quick Demonstration Guidance inside it. SSCOM32: Programming software for serial port debugging USB Driver: XR21V1410 and CP2102 2.3.2 Documents:             1_Sample Quick Start: This document introduces the quick entry of C-series products which is typical sample for customer’s understanding of productions on starting period. 2_Products Manual: Overview of Products to make customer quickly step into understanding and testing 3_DGUS Development Guide(updating without advanced notice): DGUS Dev. Guide_V3.3 is essential document for R&D section to engineers. It introduces the code, DGUS principles, variables etc. in order to programming usage. 4_DWIN_SDK User Guide_V4.0: Tutorial Document for software DGUS_SDK that teach you the operation on software. 5_DGUS Commands Demonstration: Examples for function usage on command communication. It only have 5 commands used in DGUS system. Product Specification/Datasheet: The electronic and mechanical features were detailed in specification. Products Catalog: This is the list of standard products from DWIN Technology. Besides of standard series, DWIN also offers the customization products based on specific application. (To be updated) Evaluation Board and Certification Beijing DWIN Technology Co., Ltd 4 www.dwin.com.cn Professional, Creditable, successful DGUS Quick Start V3.0 3 DGUS Quick Start 3.1 Hardware Requirements 1) .Net Framework 2.0 must be pre-installed for running DGUS_SDK. 2) USB driver XR21V1410 or CP2102 need to be installed for communication with testing 3) DGUS_SDK can run on Windows XP/7. 3.2 Connections 3.2.1 Normal Connection (for LCMs without enclosure) 1) Connecting DGUS LCM to PC via DB9 serial port by 8Pin cable. (DB9 was used for data communication testing via SSCOM32) 2) Connecting DGUS LCM to PC by HDL662 and 10Pin cable. Notice: 5V voltage required. Please pay attention to the current supply. For further information, please refers to sample instruction 3.4 USB Driver Installation 3.4.1 USB Driver USB driver need to be installed in advance to make sure you can debug the communication between DGUS LCM and PC via HDL661, HDL662 and HDL663. We strongly recommend both CP2102 and XR21V1410 are installed ensuring communications works, no matter what kind of downloading board you are using. Steps to install XR21V1410 driver (for HDL662): 1) Download the driver file and unzip it. (.net Framework 2.0 is required to run the software.) 3.6 Start a New Project DGUS_SDK is designed for generating configuration files(13 touch/14 display variables bin file). The files should be dropped into <DWIN_SET> folder in SD card then downloaded into DWIN DGUS LCMs. Users may use third-party Serial Connection Debugging Programs (e.g.: SSCOM32 recommended) to debug the communication between DGUS LCMs and PCs. Step 2: Interface Design  Pictures, icons and fonts are generated by the image processing software.  The picture must be exported in bmp format,16-bit of color and resolution of visual effect Step 3: Configuration of User Interface  Config. file for communication and operation parameters of button are generated by DGUS_SDK Step 4: Debugging & Modification  Testing and revising the interface by viewing effects on DGUS module. (Step 2 - 3)  Connect serial port of DGUS module and user’s MCU, debugging. Beijing DWIN Technology Co., Ltd 10 www.dwin.com.cn Professional, Creditable, successful DGUS Quick Start V3.0 Step5: Data transfer to LCMs  Config. files, fonts, icon files, pictures and other files must be stored in SD cards as DWIN_SET folder that taking for a while to auto download after inserting to slot.  There is only one way to upgrade the data into DGUS module and export the data that is by SD card. So for intellectual property of products, lock the SD port after downloading the data. WARNING- FAILURE TO INPUT CORRECT PASSWORD WILL RESULT IN SD CARD INTERFACE PERMANENT LOCKOUT! SAFEKEEP YOUR PASSWORD! 3.8 Firmware Upgrade Method 1: via SD card. Upgrade your DGUS firmware by SD card is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for V3.0 and higher version. (Copy the DGUS_V*.BIN into DWIN_SET in root directory of SD card.) Method 2: via serial port. Refer to chapter 1.4 in DGUS Development Guide for more details. 3.9 Check Firmware Version: A. Physically, connect DGUS LCM serial port and COM port on PC, and connect power properly. B. Open the SSCOM3.2 and make sure that SendHEX and HexData are checked C. Then write command in data input column: Frame_Header (2 Bytes) 03 81 00 01 and press “SEND” button. D. Your computer will receive a feedback message like Frame_Header (2 Bytes) 03 81 00 XX . The number XX is the version number in BCD format. If it's 10, that means V1.0, if 35, means V3.5. Beijing DWIN Technology Co., Ltd 11 www.dwin.com.cn Professional, Creditable, successful DGUS Quick Start V3.0 4 FAQ 4.1 Display Abnormally A. firmware upgrading failed; please do it again as the steps refer to chapter 3.8. B. power supply is wrong (lower than minimum voltage or current, the LCM doesn’t work), refer to product specification and supply the right power. C. initial image is empty. D. Incorrect COM port number which can be found from Device Mangaer of PC. E. Incorrect format of pictures, it should be 24-bit BMP. 4.2 Touch screen Calibration Method 1: quick clicking touch screen 20 times within 4 seconds in none-button area to activate calibration mode.  Quickly tap the touch screen more than 20 times in 4 seconds until a long beep from buzzer. Note: do not click button area.  For the models without buzzer, user can time for 4 seconds or judge by if the variables are refreshed.  Click particular position on touch screen to calibrate as user prompted.  Calibration completed and back the starting page. Method 2 (for V4.5 and higher version): write “TP_CORRECT” in CONFIG.TXT in root directory of SD card to activate calibration made once. For V4.3 and higher version, touch screen calibration will be disabled when SD card is disabled. 4.3 Name Rules of Images and Font Files Pictures: picture ID + (optional) file name.BMP, e.g.: 00_starting page.BMP. Font files: font ID + (optional) file name.BIN/DZK/HZK, e.g.: 24_ASCII_Arial.DZK. For more details, please refer to DGUS Development Guide. 4.4 How to do with Icon Files? Copy the icon files into the folder DWIN_SET of the project, and then you can call the icons directly when running the DGUS_SDK. 4.5 Rotation 180°Display If user set the LCM 180°rotation, please calibrate the touch screen once after download. 4.6 SD Card Format Format your SD card: if part of your data in SD card is not downloaded into LCM, please format your SD card as the instruction below. Step 1: open RUN function in Windows and run DOS using “command”. Step 2: type command to format: “format/q g:/fs:fat32/a:4096”, and click <enter> to finish formatting. The letter in red is the disk number of SD card. Beijing DWIN Technology Co., Ltd 12 www.dwin.com.cn Professional, Creditable, successful DGUS Quick Start V3.0 5 Maintenance and Service 5.1 Maintenance As high-precision device, LCMs should be operated carefully when in storage, transporting and installing, avoiding strong pressure on the LCM and scratching by sharp objects. LCD surface, CF and coatings, and touch panel are made of organic high polymer material, use LCD cleaners to do cleaning, avoiding organic solvents, such as alcohol, Alkali materials, chemicals contacting the LCM. 5.2 Service The service extends only to the original purchaser.
